In an alternate history New York City, circa 1910, a young Jewish boy from the Lower East Side becomes a reluctant Inquisitor’s apprentice when his ability to see magic is revealed. He and his fellow apprentice, a young girl from a wealthy family, work to protect the city from a ruthless man who will stop at nothing to gain power and riches.
